Stuck with a full bag of non-juicy apples? Pop em in the oven & be sweetly surprised by what pops out!
Apple crisps/ chips are a charming healthy snack option for these reasons:
It's a super simple recipe, consisting of only 2-3 ingredients.
They're the perfect substitute when you may be craving sweets or candies.
For any gal on the go, they're easy to package in a container or zip-lock bag.
Eating apples in this creative form helps you consume more daily fibre and Vit C.
Who doesn't love cinnamon- your trusty spice boosting immunity, promoting anti-inflammation, regulating blood sugar levels, digestion, & SO MUCH MORE.
Also, one batch makes so much more than what you see in this teeny bowl - my family and I snacked a lil, prior to me capturing some photos :)
All You'll Need is:
2-3 apples of any colour (one thinly-sliced apple fills a tray, so use more if desired)
lots of cinnamon
*1 tsp of castor sugar per tray is optional (after trying both, I can say that they're sweet enough without, but adding a bit of sugar makes them slightly crispier)
All You'll Do is:
Preheat the oven to 90º C (200ºF).
After washing your apples, slice them thinly & horizontally.
Place each slice onto your non-greased tray, taking care to place each one in their own little 'space bubble' - ie. no overlapping.
Sprinkle your preferred amount of cinnamon over the apples, & also the sugar should you want to include it.
Bake for 1 hour in the oven, then remove the trays to turn each slice on their other side. Bake again for an hour.
Ta-dah! Your initially unsatisfactory apples have now been delightfully transformed. Enjoy each bite, & remember to savour the flavour.
With sweet joy & lemon zest,
Hannah Mia xo
