Booba Beautea, Stellenbosch 📍

Updated: Dec 28, 2023

"A cup of life; a cup of love."

After trying bubble tea for the first time, I quickly decided that we were not tjoms. Something about the taste and texture of tapioca pearls just did not wish to agree with my senses. This was a few months ago, and the strange drink has been much avoided since - that is, until a friend pointed me in the direction of a blossoming little teashop.

It was the stunning service with a smile, the gorgeous outdoor seating by the window, the beautiful blooming backdrop, and the adorable iced teddy that brought about a change of heart towards bubble tea.

Booba Beautea is the secret garden of Dorp Street, at least in my mind. It is both a perfect little hideout from the textbooks, as well as a calming environment to study in. Better yet, it makes for an excellent end-of-exams celebration stop, and you can even order a tea-to-go if you'd prefer to picnic elsewhere or take a Sunday stroll down the Dorp Street Market.

Not only does Booba serve delicious bubble-bear tea, but also a wider selection of sweet sips, smoothies, poké bowls, sago pudding, imochi (can recommend the ice-cream mochi), and other treats. This place truly serves cups of life & love.

Open on Mondays to Saturdays from 10h00-18h00, and on Sundays from 10h00 to 16h30.

You'll be able to find this sweet spot on 112 Dorp Street in Stellenbosch Central:

With sweet sweeeet joy & lemon zest,
